Book & Object Cabinet
Eaglemont - 2016

‘Objects of Desire - The Contained and the Container’. This piece of furniture is as much a piece of art as it is a container of art objects. This design is a playful composition of horizontal and vertical singular elements, interlocked but visually sliding upon, over and into each other. The language of form is both orthogonal and non-euclidean, it has a primordial sensibility about it as it slides over the floor and transfigures itself into a structured arrangement of rectilinear boxes and books. The ‘curiosity factor’ of the piece is further intensified when touched with soft white rubber and polished paint finishes, providing a measured palette to this intriguing piece.
